23rd

Scaffolding has been taken down in the tunnel

The two supports are now visible in position

The majority of footers now hold plates

Anchor footer for drop now ready for steel

Work continues on the many footers and foundations all over the site.

 

July 2002

11th

Foundation work is coming to an end, should be mostly structural work from here on. The floor base has been laid in the station. You will climb and enter the volcano from the front, above the tunnel.

 

28th

The train store / maintenance building framework has been erected. Tarmac has been poured on the future paths around the site as a temporary surface for access.

Large deliveries of steel started to arrive on the 4th August. Much has been erected since then; complete up to the base of the lift. The lowering floor has been installed, along with the upper station structure. A second trench has been dug for the water feature under the entrance to the second corkscrew.
